Boot-Notes

Footprints:
I made it up over the top of Kearsarge pass with a little help from Vivaldi. Normally I don’t listen to music while I’m hiking as I prefer to listen to and take in the sounds around me. But sometimes music really helps the umpf factor on a long slog.

The solar shower I left on top of my car was hot and I used it to wash my hands, face and feet. What an amazing feeling.

I found a campsite in big pine creek. I paid $3.50 for a ten minute heavenly hot shower. I watched a lot of dirt run down the drain. I put on semi clean clothes. I drove to Bishop and found the best burger place, Burger Barn ( which never has been open in the past) and enjoyed an amazing turkey burger on a homemade bun with homemade sweet potato fries. I topped it off with homemade ice cream. I loved the retro funky atmosphere of the place and think I will try and plan all my backpack trips to end here!

Interesting trash that I found and packed out for this trip: a blue rubber band, a purple rubber band, a twist tie, part of a rusted jackknife and a worn leather strap.
Trash that I saw but didn’t pack out, besides the 3 Mylar balloons: an avocado pit, a still smelly sardine tin, and a lot of used TP. 🙁
