EA: Iceland August 10, 2017

  1. This is a bonus post from Iceland. Spent the morning walking the streets of downtown Reykjavik. It is pride week and the whole city embraces the event. Wonderful to see and feel that kind of support!

This painted flag shows up every year in the city…this year it was in front of the tourist information building. The mayor helped paint it.

Very windy day…. good for the flags

Colorful houses

I was surprised to see a lion in Iceland!

The flowers in the park were amazing!

I’m off to meet my friend Lisa at the airport where we will fly to Greenland this evening. We just found out that there is a fire burning in the peat moss and there was a warning of smokey conditions issued for Arctic Circle backpackers. WHAT?! The warning has been lifted. And it sounds like it is a similar smoke issue that I experience every summer in the Sierra. We shall see though, or at least I hope I see!

happy trails!
